Day of Atonement — Yom Kippur The fast on the Day of Atonement is rich with meaning for the Christian, as it points us to the sacrifice of Christ as a propitiation for our sins, and the sins of all people. As we afflict our souls through fasting we gain a deeper understanding of our need for God, and his plan to forgive our sins so we might live in covenant with Him. We also anticipate that time of peace when the adversary will no longer influence humanity and a jubilee will sound announcing the restoration of the inheritance to the people of God.

Feast of Tabernacles 2017 — Preparing God’s People

On this first day of the festival we look forward to a new age ushered in by the coming of the Messiah. But what is the nature of our Messiah? Many religions teach the concept of a Messiah, a deliverer. But few understand the nature of the Messiah who is revealed in the Judeo-Christian scriptures. The Messianic Age — Walking in God’s Ways When we study the future, as pictured by the Feast of Tabernacles, we come to understand more about God’s ways. The prophets, Isaiah and Micah, both were inspired to write about the coming of the Messianic age. Their messages were very similar, and they both focused on the importance of the law in establishing the millennial reign of the Messiah. So what are those ways of God that he will be teaching all nations? The Nature of the Father In celebrating the Feast we often focus on Christ’s return and the establishment of his millennial rule. And rightly so. But is this our ultimate vision for the future, or is there something greater? Are we looking forward to Christ’s return or to the Father’s coming, or both? And how are these events connected? What must happen before the Father comes and the new heaven and earth are…

The Messiah and His Kingdom — A Message for the Feast of Tabernacles

Many religions teach the concept of a Messiah, a deliverer. But few understand the nature of the Messiah who is revealed in the Judeo-Christian scriptures. Some in the Christian world have grasped the nature of the Messiah’s first coming. But when Jesus began his ministry even John the Baptist was a little confused. Jesus did not seem to be fulfilling the Messianic expectations of the people. Why?

Feast of Trumpets: When Christ Comes in Glory
Comments Off on Feast of Trumpets: When Christ Comes in Glory, Videos, by CGP.Feast of Trumpets A Day of Reflection For many Yom Teruah, the day of blowing, or Feast of Trumpets is a time of reflection. It is a time to symbolically cast off sins, and plead before the “heavenly court” Both Jews and Christians alike, consider the Feast of Trumpets, an important time to seek and receive deliverance and forgiveness. In searching the scriptures there are few dramatic historic events that are linked to this Holy Day. However, there are many prophecies that link the blowing of trumpets to a special future time. It is the “day of the Lord” and many events will occur, “in that day” that will touch the lives of all humanity.

Pentecost the Law and the Spirit
Comments Off on Pentecost the Law and the Spirit, Videos, by CGP.Pentecost Law & Spirit Many Pentecost Stories Have you ever noticed this in Luke’s account? In rehearsing the events surrounding Christ’s resurrection, the women came on the first day of the weeks. Have you wondered why the original Greek was plural, week(s). Yet many mistranslations abound, so they miss the significance of this statement. If they knew the law of Moses, they would have realized this was a reference to the beginning of the 50 day count to Pentecost. Looking back into God’s instructions in the law concerning the Feast of Weeks, the Feast of Firstfruits, we find another curious yet meaningful side-note. In the midst of the section about the holy day, there is a specific and seemingly unrelated command. It addressed the needs of the poor and the stranger, the foreigner. And it tied together the story of Ruth with Pentecost the law and the spirit.

Passover — Lamb without Blemish
Comments Off on Passover — Lamb without Blemish, Videos, by CGP.“Born Again” Christians? There is a great irony in the Christian world. The apostle John wrote of a similar irony in the Jewish world of his day. They claimed to know God, and yet they had lost touch with biblical truth. John wrote of Jesus’ discussion with Nicodemus about being “born of the spirit.” And much later he wrote to the brethren to help them understand what it meant to be “begotten/born of God.” John wrote emphatically that, people who have the “seed of begettal” do not practice sin! They practice righteousness. Christian’s at Odds with Christ?
