The pilgrims — like their spiritual ancestors that left Egypt at the time of the Exodus and that became the household of God that walked in Christ’s footsteps — sought to develop a ‘covenant community’ This community would need to be built on the sure foundation of the prophets and apostles that taught and lived in harmony with the Judeo Christian worldview. They were to provide an example — a model — that the world could imitate in order to partake of God’s promises.

As disciples of Christ our commission is to be witnesses of this worldview and the Messiah’s good news message that is derived from the the teachings of the Hebrew and Greek scriptures. This task was to be accomplished over the centuries and to the ends of the earth. So do you know the biblical worldview — our spiritual roots — that the Prophets and Christ revealed in the scriptures?  

Are we worshipping the God of Creation in a way that pleases him? What are God’s expectations, and what are the consequences of performing or ignoring what God has to say about worship?

John was inspired to write, “God is spirit and those who worship him must worship in Spirit and truth.” So is there worship that conforms to God’s will and purpose, and worship that does not?
