Feast of Tabernacles

Opening night fot

You shall celebrate it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It is a statute forever throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month.

What a blessing it has been to have the privilege to rejoice with God’s people for the past four decades and more during the Feast of Tabernacles/Succoth, God’s fall festival season. Looking back on each Feast there have been valuable lessons to learn about my walk with God and my family in the faith. These blogs highlight some of the people and places and lessons in progress.

king_swordThe Jews have long celebrated this momentous Holy Day and with good understanding of some key elements of the meaning of the day as taught in the Hebrew scriptures. As a Christian celebrating this Holy time, when you consider the themes of the Feast of Trumpets, Yom Teruah/Rosh Hashana, have you considered the importance of Christ’s return in terms of establishing justice, and executing judgements? kerry-fingersJudge not that ye be not judged

US Secretary of State, John Kerry, claims that there is “evidence beyond any reasonable doubt” that the armed forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad launched a nerve gas/chemical attack on certain suburbs of Damascus on August 21, killing some 1,429 people—of whom Mr. Kerry stressed there were 429 children. Other governments and organizations, however, reduce this grim figure…

What God Loves

love is
Do we love the things that God loves. As His children we should know what our Father loves and we will grow to love the same things. So what God loves is an important question for any Christian. Where do we go to know the answer? Jeff Patton searches the scriptures, for they provide us with ample evidence as to God’s nature and what He loves.

What God Hates

What does God hate?

What does God hate?

It is just as important to know what God hates, as it is to know what God loves. If we are to become perfect as our Father is perfect, we must also hate those things that will keep us from achieving our potential as children of God – we must hate what God hates.

Woman of Valour: Eshet Chayil

Comments Off on Woman of Valour: Eshet Chayil, Sermons and Media, Videos, by CGP.

woman of valourThe Eshet Chayil, or woman of valour, teaches the Christian about many aspects of living a life that pleases God,whether you are a woman or a man. The valiant wife is a metaphor of the kind of devotion that brethren should have in their service to God. In our society that no longer values the eshet chayil, we have settled for self-absorbed lives that lack the nobility of character that God desires. In understanding Proverbs 31 we can all aspire to the virtues that should be a part of our daily lives as the people of God.
