Psalms 23
God uses the metaphor of sheep and shepherd to describe in rich detail the kind of care that good Shepherds have for their flock, and the attitude that faithful sheep have towards the Shepherd.
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.

God uses an agricultural metaphor to help people understand the relationship between His people and the leaders, faithful shepherds, God has called to care for His sheep. What can we learn from the scriptures to help us understand what God requires of his servants? What is the motivating force behind our obedience and service to God’s people?

Slippery Slope of Moral Relativism:
Wow, it’s amazing what happens in just one weekly news cycle! Should we cry or laugh?
A full two-thirds of Canada’s doctors are opposed to participating in the Supreme Court’s newly discovered “right to die” by doctor-assisted suicide. In fact only 29 percent of doctors surveyed said they would even consider providing such a “new procedure.”

Can these bones live. The short answer is, “Yes!” but there is much more to the story. God says that, “all will be saved” but is that happening now? When will God work to save all of humanity? God’s plan of salvation for all is revealed through the Holy Days that God created as memorials and as prefigurative events envisioning what is to come in the future. The future is full of hope for those who put their trust in the God of scripture.

Truth Bytes – Psalms 1-6
Scripture plants us firmly beside living waters. Stay grounded in life by turning to God’s word for advice that lasts.
Those “whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditate on his law day and night … [are] like a tree planted by streams of water.” Psalm 1:2-3

See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the Lord my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it. Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.” Deuteronomy 4
Comments Off on Yom Teruah – Feast of Trumpets 2015, Videos, by CGP.
Why do Christians celebrate the Feast of Trumpets, Yom Teruah, the day of blowing? Jeff Patton takes you on a tour of the scriptures to understand the meaning behind this annual fall festival. There is coming a time when God will judge the nations, but he has a role for his people to play now in preparation for that time. Do you know what God expects of his people? Are you fulfilling your role as God’s servant? In the future there is a great reward for those, great and small, who understand the message of the Feast of Trumpets.
