Covenants – Living with God

Would it surprise you to know that:
The covenant was not a contract
The covenant was not a “marriage”
The “Old” covenant was not “done away” on the cross
Christ did not abolish the law — the covenant — by his sacrifice
The ‘Old’ and ‘New’ covenants are not mutually exclusive
The Covenant is everlasting
Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore.
Ezekiel 37:26

These festival days in the fall harvest season have important meaning for every believer in Jesus Christ our Messiah. And yet in our time few people believe in a literal return of the King of Kings. Few consider the need for observing God’s commanded assemblies. And as a result, even fewer people have a clear vision of the future. Yet, Paul, the apostle to the gentiles, encouraged these converts to keep the annual feast days recorded by Moses. Why? It was an important part of the gospel message! Paul understood this and preached the gospel of the coming Kingdom of God.

Their final release from the collapsed mine happened 25 years ago in October 2010. The fast on the Day of Atonement is rich with meaning for the Christian, as it points us to the sacrifice of Christ as a propitiation for our sins, and the sins of all people. As we afflict our souls through fasting we gain a deeper understanding of our need for God, and his plan to forgive our sins so we might live in covenant with Him. We also anticipate that time of peace when the adversary will no longer influence humanity.
A jubilee will begin — the restoration of the inheritance to the people of God.

Days of Awe have historically been considered as a time of judgment, the time between the Feast of Trumpets, Yom Teruah, and the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur. During this time God has a message for the physical people, the descendants of Israel, a message of repentance and reconciliation. For the Christian the message gains a deeper significance as we move beyond repentance to embrace the goal of becoming the telleion man (or woman). Jeff Patton will shed light on this goal and our spiritual journey.

Sabbath – God’s Holy Time 2025

Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for God’s people. 10 For the person who has entered His rest has rested from his own works, just as God did from His. Let us then make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall into the same pattern of disobedience. Hebrews 4:8-11
From the beginning, God created man to have a relationship with Him. The Sabbath was that weekly opportunity to commune with God, that God established at the foundation of the world and preserved through the millennia. It looks back to creation and deliverance from Egypt, and it looks forward to the ultimate rest of God and His people in the New Heavens and New Earth. It is a weekly reminder to all who worship the Creator of His majesty, loyalty, loving kindness, and life-giving power. We can find rest and peace in God, on God’s Sabbath day.
