Comments Off on Biblical Festivals: Which Holy Days should Christians value?, Sermons and Media, Videos, by CGP.
This year – 2025 – the fall Holy Days begin with the Feast of Trumpets on the 1st of Tishri which is Tuesday, September 23 2025. This year we begin the celebration of this Holy Day at sunset on Monday, September 22 2025. Join us as we rejoice in God’s feast days.
Here is a message that speaks to our time and the meaning of God’s appointed times as revealed in the scriptures.
Why would Christians observe festivals that would seem to be obscure Jewish Holy Days to the mainstream of Christianity? Would it surprise you to know that the human genome, and our purpose in living are intricately connected to the Holy times that God set apart in scripture? What are the biblical festivals that the apostles and the early church observed and why did they observe them? Jeff Patton searches the scriptures for the answers to these important questions, and their relevance to our worship today.
If, as some Christians believe, we already have eternal life as immortal souls, then why would we need a resurrection? From the scriptures we know that the hope of eternal life is the goal of salvation and that salvation is a process that culminates in the resurrection to eternal life, but what does the bible say about the nature of those who are resurrected? Jeff Patton explains this great spiritual mystery of immortal life.
Spiritual salvation is a process, a daily walk with Christ that takes us on a climb to the spiritual summit. Jeff captures the essence of the climb as we strive for our “teleos” the end goal of the resurrection to eternal life.
Is it enough to believe in Jesus and be baptized? Or is there work to be done? Jeff Patton explains the doctrine of “going on to perfection” and the impact of this process of growing into spiritual perfection – maturity in the life of a Christian
What does it mean to be born again and when are we born again? How are we “born again”? What was the vital message that Jesus delivered to the Pharisees through Nicodemus? And what was the effect of this message in the life of Nicodemus. Jeff Patton answers these questions that are vital to the understanding of every Christian in a message about “born again” a new beginning on the path to Salvation.

Sleep and Health: Sweet Dreams or Nightmare
They drag their bodies into class, eyes glazed and shoulders drooping, and plop themselves down as if burdened by a great weight. It’s 9:00 am, but for many of my students the day has begun while they are still half asleep. As a teacher I know that their ability to think, concentrate, perform on a test, or remember information are all hampered by a lack of one of our basic needs – sleep. And it is not just my imagination that my students, more and more of them, are arriving to class sleep-deprived and unprepared to learn. Research shows that on average this generation is sleeping much less nightly than their grandparents.
Overall, sleep duration thus appears to have decreased by 1.5-2 hours during the second half of the 20th century. Today, many people are in bed only 5-6 hours per night on a regular basis. http://www.medscape.org/viewarticle/502825
While teaching lessons on healthy living, I’ve often asked my students about their sleep habits and I have been amazed with the results of our informal surveys. More
