Authentic Gospel and the Messiah – Comfort My People

Comments Off on Authentic Gospel and the Messiah – Comfort My People, Videos, by CGP.

Comfort My People Charles Jennins, the lyricist who arranged the scriptures to create the Messiah oratorio, was a religious dissident in his time. His ‘Messiah’ was mysterious to the public who knew little of the bible. So in beginning his work with the message of, “Comfort my people — says your God,” his desire was to speak to the heart of his audience. He wove the scriptures together to appeal to people’s emotions and longings – to comfort the weary with God’s words. And that message still resonates today for all who hear the Messiah, whether they know the gospel or not.

Fuzzy Theology: Do You Know the Scriptures?

Comments Off on Fuzzy Theology: Do You Know the Scriptures?, Videos, by CGP.

Fuzzy Theology: Do You Know the Scriptures? A recent poll in the US showed that a majority of people believe in God and love the bible. But, most are “fuzzy” on the details. God’s Sabbath Day

Comments Off on God’s Sabbath Day, Beliefs, by CGP.

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.  Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for God’s people. 10 For the person who has entered His rest has rested from his own works, just as God did from His.  Let us then make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall into the same pattern of disobedience. Hebrews 4:8-11 From the beginning, God created man to have a relationship with Him. The Sabbath was that weekly opportunity to commune with God, that God established at the foundation of the world and preserved through the millennia. It looks back to creation and deliverance from Egypt, and it looks forward to the ultimate rest of God and His people in the New Heavens and New Earth. It is a weekly reminder to all who worship the Creator of His majesty, loyalty, loving kindness, and life-giving power. We can find rest and peace in God, on God’s Sabbath day.
